Description
Iglesia de Santa Bárbara was designed by Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel in 1884.
It was built entirely of stamped steel sheet squares and is supported by a formidable steel structure in a sober and austere style.
It was built in 1887 and first shown at the 1889 Exposition Universelle of Paris, France close to the Eiffel Tower, and that it was awarded a prize.
It was moved to Brussels, where it was acquired by the Boleo Mining Company who disassembled it, put it up on a ship and next installed it in Santa Rosalia, Baja California, Mexico, in late 1897
