Description
Trees are a source of well-being and shade with their leaves, when the season comes they remain bare skeletons, silent witnesses of human behaviors.
They are observer and one winter or another a verdict will come.
So even the monuments of Calton Hill take a backseat to the trees. This is the meaning I wanted to give to this photograph.
This Hill offers a fantastic panoramic view of the whole center of Edinburgh and some important monuments are recognized.
The National Monument, which was designed as a replica of the Parthenon in Athens, serves to commemorate the Scottish people during the war against Napoleon but was never completed, becoming even more significant.
The tower is the Nelson Monument to commemorate the death of Admiral Lord Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
On the right is visible the Astronomy Observatory and for this reason, someone calls this place Observatory Hill.
Humans are obsessed with war, the trees are not!
