This monument is in the Stone mausoleum, 1681 built into Grassmarket wall of Greyfriars Kirkyard, Edinburgh, Scotland.
After 1660, the Church of Scotland outlawed burial inside the church, which led to the practice of wealth commissioning ornate monuments and mausoleums in the kirkyard.
Greyfriars has a very fine collection, many from the 17th century. One of the most impressive is the tomb of John Bayne of Pitcarlie (1620-1681) in his hands was a purse containing the royal signet: Bayne was Writer to the Signet.
Micah Offman as a photographer resided in Tucson, AZ but had the opportunity to travel throughout the world and, as a result, the chance to capture a host of intriguing images from many different countries. Micah is interested in photographing disparate subjects, often filtered with dream-like atmospheres or with music as inspiration. All of his images have a special look that is the result of his commitment to making photographs treated in detail. Furthermore, his passion for science fiction and fantasy themes has also led him to produce some works using AI (Artificial Intelligence) finding its originality here too. This is so massive-looking. I can feel the dampness of the stone, the smell of moss. I like the leaves in foreground. I struggle to do leaves like this. It also reminds me of the best, early Disney studio work.
