The Castle of La Mota or Castillo de La Mota is a medieval fortress, located in the city of Medina del Campo, province of Valladolid, Spain.
It is named for its location on an elevated hill, a mota in Spanish.
Construction began in 1080 to protect the city from Moorish depredation, unlike any other castle, it was built using bricks instead of stones, certainly over a million reddish bricks.
