Artist's Description

Neil’s Garden is one of the most remarkable gardens in Scotland today.

Lying next to the twelfth-century Duddingston Kirk, where the lower slopes of Edinburgh Arthur’s Seat meet Duddingston Loch, this secluded garden is the result of the imagination, dedication and sheer hard work of Drs. Andrew and Nancy Neil.

It has sometimes been called Edinburgh’s Secret Garden. Many people find it more than a mere garden. This spot has been a place of inspiration (artistic, literary, and spiritual) as well as for meditation and contemplation, even before the garden was created.

The planting is mostly conifers, heathers and alpines, with primulas (including the rare Pubescens), magnolias, rhododendrons, azaleas and many other shrubs.

About Micah Offman

Micah Offman

Micah Offman as a photographer resided in Tucson, AZ but had the opportunity to travel throughout the world and, as a result, the chance to capture a host of intriguing images from many different countries. Micah is interested in photographing disparate subjects, often filtered with dream-like atmospheres or with music as inspiration. All of his images have a special look that is the result of his commitment to making photographs treated in detail. Furthermore, his passion for science fiction and fantasy themes has also led him to produce some works using AI (Artificial Intelligence) finding its originality here too.
