Your picture of the Manueline ornamentation in the Jerónimos Monastery is absolutely mesmerizing, capturing the intricate details and almost mystical atmosphere perfectly. You've truly brought out the beauty and timelessness of this architectural gem. Lisbon is one of my absolute favorite cities. Well done!
Micah Offman replied:
Thank you very much, dear Danta! If you love Lisbon I have plenty of pictures of the city and surroundings in a dedicated gallery.

Stunning - when was this built?
Micah Offman replied:
It was erected in the early 1500s near the launch point of Vasco da Gama's first journey, and its construction was funded by a tax on the profits of the yearly "Portuguese India Armadas". and, on a personal note, I find it absurd that those who plundered and destroyed civilizations in the Americas, raped, enslaved and brought diseases are still considered heroes in Postugal and Spain.
